SR-22 Insurance Chicago

SR-22 insurance is a vehicle liability insurance document that provides proof that the motor vehicle operator has the minimum required liability insurance coverage for a particular state.  SR-22 insurance is usually required in order for a drive to reinstate his or her license after driving privileges have been previously revoked due to an uninsured car accident, or driving under the influence.

The length of time that someone is required to carry SR-22 insurance varies by state, so it’s best to check with your local department of transportation office for the specific details.

However, one important thing to remember, is that even when it is required by the court that you get SR-22 insurance, you must comply with this even if you do not own a motor vehicle.  You will be paying insurance, even if you aren’t driving.

Also, if you are younger and you were driving your parents car, you may no longer be covered under their original insurance plan, and you should look into this so you know if you are covered or not.  If you aren’t, you will not be covered by your parents insurance plan if you are in a collision.

Great weather increases DUI arrests

Now that the winter weather is coming to an end here in Chicago, we can look forward to more and more people seeking the advice of DUI lawyers around the city.  Why is that?  It’s because with warmer weather comes a propensity to consume alcoholic beverages, and with that consumption comes the increased risk of making unwise decisions.  Decisions that could land you in the backseat of a police cruiser.

Police will be sure to be out by the hundreds at local speed traps, at night, catching people that are too innebriated to be operating their motor vehicles, and ready to hand out a shiny pair of handcuffs to those who have imbibed too much to be driving.  It’s probably safe to assume that the areas most affected by this will be those with many clubs.  I’m looking at you Rush and Division, Warehouse District, and River North.

If you are going to be goin gout a lot this weekend, it’s always a good idea to make sure you keep an extra 20 for a cab ride home if you don’t have a designated driver.  You don’t want to end up making a decision that could affect you, and possibly others, for the rest of your life.

Just remember, that in Chicago, DUI lawyers are on your side, and if you ever find yourself in a situation you wish you hadn’t gotten yourself into, you can always contact one for a consultation, and to weigh your options in the hopes of getting your punishment mitigated or eliminated.  Be smart, get a Chicago DUI Lawyer.  Be smarter, don’t drink and drive.

Wall Street Prison Consultants

With the increasing amount of people being investigated for white collar crimes, there apparantly is an increasing demand for a service known as the Wall Street Prison Consultants.  A service, primarily aimed at preventining human suppositories and extortion once you are on the inside.  I can definitely say, that this makes me smile.  A former prison inmate of 10 years, turning around and starting a consulting firm.  I love irony, so let’s pray that he evades taxes, or is using this as a money laundering scheme.

Consultant or Child Predator?

There are many qualified criminal defense lawyers that you should consult with if you run into trouble with the law…I mean, think about the level you’ve sunk to when you’re hiring this guy over on the right to take care of you.  I mean, this the only consulting this guy looks qualified to give is “How to sit in a lawn chair with a beer and a skin mag, watering a spot in the grass with a garden hose “

[Madoff's in courthouse this morning (in the middle of an absolute newsroom clusterfuck), which probably marked his last moments as a at-least-im-not-in-jail man. Now that he's admitted his heinous acts, he's going to answer reporters inquiries about his scam, and then the judge will announce whether his plea is accepted (yes). The judge may end Madoff's house arrest after today's trial and send him directly to jail. About time]…

DUI Laws And Demonization

Driving under the influence is against the law, and of course it’s a bad thing to do.  I do think, however, that anybody who says that they’ve never done this is probably lying.  And I’m wondering if this demonization of getting a DUI is really worth it.

A commercial shows a young couple ready to go out, and as soon as the woman gets into the car, the man blows into a breath-a-lyzer, and she immediately gets out.  Is this for real?   This is almost as bad as those commercials where the kid high on pot blows his friends head off.

Yes, getting a DUI is bad, but it’s something that has been turned into more monstrous than it is.  Our president from the years of 2000-2008 had a DUI, and yet he held the highest office in the land.  I think that employers shouldn’t be so harsh to judge anybody by them receiving a DUI in the past.  It’s not big enough to ruin somebody’s employment expectations for the rest of their life.

At the risk of sounding cliche, I feel an Orwellian presence.
